"The draught proofing & double glazing work you guys did, has reduced our gas usage by at least 25%, this should see a big reduction in the bill as well as reducing our carbon footprint, which something I'm very keen to do. Many thanks."
Luca Leone Cambridge

BUYER BEWARE.
There are many inferior thin sealed units being offered for sale, which sound cheap, but will cost considerably more in the long run. Be sure you are buying from a reputable company, with an EN1279 test certificate for low sightline / thin cavity units.
The units that Solely Sashes supply and install are manufactured by The Original Glass Company, manufacturers of high performance historic glazing without compromise.
The Original Glass Company was formed by Hollowseal Glass, itself a high quality sealed unit manufacturer of 20 years, to service the heritage market with a dedicated range of thin sealed units suited for the upgrade of single glazing in historic windows.
These units are the most advanced available and are made in Cambridgeshire here in the UK.
The units are entirely machine made, utilising rigid spacer bar technology. They are pressure filled with Krypton gas for maximum u value benefit and depending on the size of cavity it is possible to fit to your windows, they achieve a u value of between 1.9 and 1.5, well below the government target of 2.0. These units have a vastly longer life expectancy than cheaper alternatives, and make much more economic sense, as well as preventing more precious heat from escaping.
The way the thin heritage units are fitted is critical to their performance and life expectancy.
Incorrectly or badly fitted units of this type will quite quickly fail. Our staff were trained by the manufacturers to correctly install the units using compounds recommended by them and to their methods. They are also by now, very experienced in dealing with any difficulties that can occur when fitting these bespoke made to measure super thin heritage double glazed sealed units.
Please contact us regarding your double glazing requirement, and we'll be happy to help and advise you with whatever problems or concerns that you may have.
